深蒸し煎茶 - Fukamushi Sencha
Deep-steamed sencha is produced by steaming the tea leaves two to three times longer than usual (90–120 seconds). This process softens and finely breaks down the leaves, creating a rich, mellow flavour with depth and reduced astringency.
The finer leaf particles allow more nutrients such as beta-carotene, vitamin E, and chlorophyll, to be extracted into the water compared with standard sencha.
Tagashira’s Deep-Steamed Sencha is made from carefully selected first-flush tea leaves grown in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture. After deep steaming and high-temperature firing, four varieties of tea leaves are expertly blended to create a premium sencha with a smooth, full-bodied taste.
Recommended brewing temperature: 70°C
